Exercice 3 — Reformulation

Each sentence illustrates one of three transformations :

• a past event (with il y a) reformulated as a current situation (with depuis)
• a current situation (with depuis) reformulated as the event that probably triggered it (with il y a)
• the same idea, expressed either with depuis or with il y a...que, without changing the verb

The verb expected in your answer is given in parentheses after each sentence. The direction of the transformation is shown by the tag above it.

Exemple

Nous avons acheté cette maison il y a quatre ans.

→ Nous habitons dans cette maison depuis quatre ans.
